Dr Gabriel Chan Hoi-huen graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (with a minor degree in Psychology) and a Master of Philosophy in Physiology. Besides, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in Liberal Studies and a PhD in Biology from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her research interests lie mainly in cardiovascular physiology and traditional Chinese medicine. She has recently published research papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
At HKCC, Dr Chan is responsible for teaching cell biology, healthy living and common health problems, and general microbiology etc. She also assists students in pursuing further education and seeking employment opportunities.
Dr Chan has a variety of interests including astronomy, travelling, hiking, and photography. In recent years she is keen on studying traditional Chinese culture.
Her students like putting graffiti on the white board in her office.
