Dr Lui graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and a Master of Philosophy in Anatomy. After that, he obtained his PhD in Pharmacology at The State University of New York (Syracuse). Then, he took his post-doctoral training in the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University (North Carolina, USA) under the supervision of Dr Michael Kastan, Executive Director of Duke Cancer Institute.

During his PhD study, Dr Lui had been awarded a competitive Congressional Pre-Doctoral Fellowship offered by the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (USA).

During his undergraduate study, Dr Lui took a year off for a university exchange programme offered by CUHK. He studied Korean language at Yonsei University, a top university in Seoul, South Korea. It is one of the most unforgettable experiences in his life.

Dr Lui’s research focus is on cancer research, particularly cell signaling and therapeutic development. Since 2003, Dr Lui has published 14 manuscripts in peer-reviewed scientific journals and a number of manuscripts are under preparation and revision.

At this institution, Dr Lui is responsible for teaching Human Biology and Microbiology. He welcomes students to seek his help anytime.
