Dr Wendy Wang received her bachelor’s degree in Convention and Events Management, master’s degree in Tourism Management, and PhD in Marketing from Sichuan University, China.
Prior to joining PolyU CPCE, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at PolyU’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management.
Dr Wang’s research lies at the intersection of marketing and tourism, with particular interests in consumer behaviour and experience, social media marketing, destination marketing, and tourist mobility. Her recent research also examines consumer and tourist behaviour in digital and technology-mediated contexts.
Dr Wang’s research employs data-driven and computational methods, including social media big data analytics, unstructured data mining, machine learning, multimodal analysis, and applications of large language models and generative AI, alongside traditional quantitative and qualitative approaches. Her work has been published in leading international journals in tourism, hospitality and marketing.
