Dr Wenli Huang obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Outstanding Graduate) from Peking University. 

She has held faculty positions at Boston University Questrom School of Business and the School of Accounting and Finance of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  She has taught various accounting and finance courses in both undergraduate and MBA programmes.  

Dr Huang’s research focuses on accounting information and corporate disclosure, social media, sustainability, supply chain, and political connections, etc. Her study on “Executive Tweets” has been accepted for publication at the Management Science (UTD24, FT 50). She has also published in other top-tier academic journals, including Contemporary Accounting Research (FT50). In addition, her work published in the Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR) received the 2022 Best Paper Award of JIAR, while another work published in the Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance on institutional trading is featured as a top story in Columbia Law School’s Blog on Corporations and the Capital Markets. 

Dr Huang has been awarded several competitive grants as the Principal Investigator from the Faculty Development Scheme (FDS) and General Research Fund (GRF) of the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR Government. She is a key team member of PolyU SPEED’s Research Centre for Green Business funded by the RGC.
