Teaching and Scholarly Interests: English
Dr Emily Lui attained her Doctor of Education from The University of Hong Kong and Master of Philosophy in Applied English Linguistics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
At PolyU CPCE, Dr Lui has been teaching courses on English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, and English grammar to students studying degrees, associate degrees and higher diplomas. She is also involved in organising English related activities and workshops to further enhance students’ exposure to English outside the classroom.
Dr Lui is a long serving executive committee member of the Hong Kong Association for Applied Linguistics (HAAL), for which she served previously as an Outreach Officer and is currently the Assistant Secretary, providing coordination and assistance in organising HAAL conferences and seminars.
Her research interests include second language acquisition, writing in English as a second language, feedback literacy, assessment for learning, and second language learning and teaching.
