Dr Helena Zhang obtained her PhD from the City University of Hong Kong in 2011. Her research interest focuses on Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, such as Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Term Extraction, Text Mining, Conversational Analysis, and Pragmatics.

Dr Zhang worked as a Research Fellow at The Halliday Centre for Intelligent Applications of Language Studies at CityU after graduation. She also worked in a few tertiary institutions in Hong Kong before joining this institution. The subjects she has taught include English for Effective Communication, English for Academic Purposes, English for Business Communication, Legal English, Translation and Drafting of Legal Documents, Corpus-based Translation, and Pragmatics.
