Dr Shum Ching-man received her BA in Chinese Studies from The University of Hong Kong. She then received her MPhil and PhD in Chinese Cultural History from the same university with the focus on Tang Dynasty, namely its culture, literature and feminist studies.

Dr Shum is well experienced in teaching, especially in teaching the development of Chinese literature, practical Chinese skills, Chinese classic literature, prose and creative writing at post-secondary level.

In her leisure time, Dr Shum loves reading and travelling as she believes there are no other better ways to experience life.
