Dr Fan Xuyan received her bachelor’s degree from Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou), master’s degree from Beijing Normal University and doctoral degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr Fan’s research focuses on classical Chinese language, literature and culture.

Before joining this institution, she worked as a visiting lecturer in Hong Kong Baptist University and The Education University of Hong Kong and a full-time lecturer in the Caritas Institute of Higher Education. She teaches Chinese language, classical Chinese literature, Chinese culture, humanities and so on.

Apart from teaching, she is an active researcher. She has attended academic meetings and published several peer-reviewed papers in academic journals in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Taiwan, etc.
