Dr Oscar Chiu graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a Bachelor of Science (first class honours) degree, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Government and Public Administration. In recognition of his academic excellence, Dr Chiu was placed on the Dean’s List during his undergraduate study. He also received a number of awards due to his outstanding academic performance and active participation in extra-curricular activities. Dr Chiu continued to pursue a higher degree and obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry from CUHK.

Serving at the Division of Science, Engineering and Health Studies of CPCE, Dr Chiu is currently serving as the Programme Leader of the Associate in Health Studies and the Scheme Leader of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Scheme in Life and Environmental Sciences. He is also serving as the Discipline Team Leader of the Discipline of Health and Life Sciences. His scholarly interests include sustainable health, environment and education; he has published relevant articles in international journals and books.
