Dr Ng Pin attained his MSc. degree in Management Science and Operational Research from University of Warwick, U.K. and M.Phil. degree in Software Engineering from The University of Hong Kong. He also received a Doctorate in Engineering from City University of Hong Kong. His research interest focuses on application of formal mechanisms in requirements engineering and he was awarded the Best Research Paper and Presentation Award in the 2007 ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering Research, Management, and Applications (SERA).

Prior to joining HKCC in 2008, Dr Ng had served as a teaching staff member at City University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, and Caritas Francis Hsu College, with the specialism in quantitative analysis, systems analysis and design, and software engineering. He was also involved as course developer of a software engineering module at The Open University of Hong Kong.

Dr Ng is also a qualified Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He had been appointed as a co-opted member of the Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) Review & Maintenance Sub-committee, under the Information and Communications Technology Industry Training Advisory Committee of the Education Bureau.
