Dr Yin is an accomplished educator, designer, and consultant with extensive experience in the United States and Asia. With a strong background in brand development, cross-cultural communications, and design thinking, Dr Yin has significantly contributed to organisations across diverse industries.
Dr Yin is a lecturer who teaches design and business programmes at PolyU CPCE. Moreover, he plays a key role as the programme leader for the BBA (Hons) in Business (Innovation and Design Management), a programme he helped develop. He applies service design and design thinking methodologies to nurture creativity and foster effective design strategies, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
Dr Yin has demonstrated his commitment to student growth by offering students invaluable exposure to entrepreneurship and integrating design and business programs. He spearheaded the development of VentrueTHON, a student social enterprise pitch competition that empowers aspiring entrepreneurs.
Before joining PolyU CPCE, he honed his skills and expertise in internationally recognised design firms such as Brandimage, Landor Associates, and Siegel & Gale. He has held various roles, such as director of communication, brand consultant, and design manager, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Dr Yin holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Hong Kong, a Master of Design Methods degree from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan.
With his wealth of experience in design, business, and education, Dr Yin brings a genuine passion for fostering creativity, innovation, and effective design strategies to his teaching and consultancy work. His dedication to student success serves as an inspiration to both current students and professionals in the field.
