Dr David Kansakar obtained his Master of Science in Work and Organisational Psychology from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. He also holds an MPhil in Psychology and a PhD in Psychology from Lingnan University.

Prior to joining this institution in 2024, Dr Kansakar taught Psychology of Decision Making at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. While a postgraduate student, he served as a tutor in the Department of Psychology at Lingnan University for five years, conducting tutorials on Introduction to Psychology, Psychology Applied to Occupational Safety and Health, Human Development and Psychology of Adulthood, Social Problem Solving and Decision Making in the Modern World, and Creativity and Individual Difference: Theory and Applications.

Before coming to Hong Kong, Dr Kansakar taught Psychology in the Workplace to MBA students and Employee Training and Development along with Fundamentals of Human Resource Management to BBA students at the School of Management of Kathmandu University, Nepal.

His work experience also includes working as a corporate assistant manager in a leading media house and working in a startup to build educational products focused on student centric learning.

Currently, Dr Kansakar teaches Introduction to Psychology and Personal Management. His academic interests include stress and coping, resilience, meaning in life, mindfulness, and wellbeing in the workplace, general population, and migrant population.
