Dr Fawad Ahmad obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from the Catholic University of Korea, South Korea, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan. He was also a visiting PhD student at the City University of London, the UK.
Prior to joining this institution, Dr Ahmad had been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, the City University of Hong Kong. He had also worked at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks as a senior engineer for more than two years, involving in industry-oriented applied R&D projects.
Dr Ahmad’s major research interests include applications of artificial intelligence, sequential data analytics, image processing, biometrics, information security and privacy. He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, Elsevier Journal of Information Security and Applications, and Springer Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing.
