Fawad Ahmad博士於香港城市大學取得電機工程博士學位。他同時持有韓國天主教大學工程碩士學位及巴基斯坦國立電腦與新興科技大學電機工程科學學士學位。他亦曾於英國倫敦城市大學擔任訪問博士研究生。

在加入本院前, Ahmad博士曾任香港城市大學電腦科學系博士後研究學者，亦曾於香港科技園香港應用科技研究院擔任高級工程師逾兩年,從事與業界攸關的應用研發項目。

Ahmad博士的主要研究興趣包括人工智能應用、序列數據分析、影像處理、生物識別、資訊安全及私隱等範疇。他是IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security、IEEE Transactions on Services Computing、Elsevier Journal of Information Security and Applications及Springer Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing的審稿人。
