Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP is Director of the School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED), Associate Dean (Information and Development), and Head of Information Technology of the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH) by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2021 and appointed Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2017. He has also received multiple CIO, data, AI, innovation and service awards, including the World CIO 200 Awards and the ASEAN & HK CIO 100 Awards.
Dr Chan holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Bristol, a Master of Educational Technology from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Science in Computing and a BA (Hons) in Public and Social Administration with First Class Honours from City University of Hong Kong, and is a Stanford Certified Project Manager. He is also a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant of CPA Australia, Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Computer Society, Senior Member of IEEE, and a member of Mensa.
His professional contributions extend beyond the College. He is Founding Chairman of the International Qualification Verification Centre, President of the Hong Kong Digital Currency Academy, Vice-President of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Hong Kong Association, and former Chairman of Mensa Hong Kong. He has served in appointed public and professional roles covering telecommunications, technology review, innovation and technology, consumer affairs, education, public governance, social service and entrepreneurship.
