Dr Helen Yeh holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Bristol, where she conducted groundbreaking research on independent language learning using digital tools. This research formed the basis for her subsequent work in coordinating and managing self-directed language learning centres within PolyU CPCE. In this role, Dr Yeh established the foundation, oversaw operational aspects, and designed engaging learning activities to empower students in their independent language learning journeys.

Dr Yeh is an active writer and researcher, with her work published in conference proceedings, books, book chapters, and international peer-reviewed journals. Her expertise and knowledge are highly regarded, demonstrated by her membership in the editorial review board of esteemed publications such as the International Journal of Computer-Assisted Language Learning and the International Journal of Adult Vocational Education and Technology. Her research interests span diverse areas, including learner autonomy, computer-mediated communication, blended learning, language curriculum design, language teaching/learning methodologies, and business communication.

Dr Yeh possesses extensive teaching experience, having instructed a wide range of courses at tertiary institutions, including Linguistics, English, Business Communication, Bilingualism, Bilingual Education, Language Curriculum, English for Specific Purposes, and English for Academic Studies. In addition to her teaching expertise, she has made significant contributions to applied linguistics and language curriculum development. Her pivotal role in developing language courses for sub-degree and degree programmes, as well as continuing education, highlights her dedication to enhancing language education. Moreover, she has conducted teacher training programmes at secondary schools and educational centres, equipping educators with the necessary skills for effective language instruction, and organised preparatory courses specifically designed to support teachers and interested parties preparing for benchmarking assessments.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr Yeh emphasises the importance of a balanced and fulfilling life. She enjoys activities such as watching movies, stage performances, and sports. She also actively engages in professional and community services, assuming leadership roles in various local and international organisations.
